ABOUT US

Our Mission

The purpose of this study is to learn about early human brain development. We want to know about you, your life, your experiences, and your feelings. We know that you and your baby are tightly connected, so by learning about you, we believe we can get to know more about your baby's current and future world.

Pregnant Yoga

What is involved in participation?

If you take part in this study, you will join us for both remote and in person study visits at NYU Langone Health.

 

 Study activities include:

  • Attending in-person and remote visits 

  • Using wearable devices such as an Oura ring

  • Answering surverys about mood and activities

  • Providing biological samples

  • Undergoing MRI scans (both you and your child!)

Participants will be paid for their time and involvement.

Who can participate?

  • Pregnant women at least 18 years old

  • Up to 22 weeks pregnant

  • With access to a smartphone

How long is the Study?

This is a longitudinal study, which means we invite you to be involved for up to 2 years as your child grows during pregnancy and early life

What will I do?

Participation includes in-person and remote study visits. Examples of study activities include answering online surveys, providing biological samples and undergoing MRI scans.

What are the benefits?

This world-first study will benefit moms and families by advancing the emerging neuroscience of pregnancy. It will also help scientists understand how the developing fetal brain is shaped before birth.

Participants enrolled in our study will be paid for their time and efforts.

You will also receive souvenir pictures of your baby's brain!
